1.   Before you even take the test you have to meet the requirements in order to take the test, like not have four absence, do all your h.w and etc. The day before the test you have to go over what you have learned in class for example you should memorize the instructions of what they want in an essay. If you want you should also read the CATW practice test that we had in class or write a few essay on your own that would help you remember all the steps you need to have a successful essay. Have a good night sleep as well so you wont be falling asleep during the test. Now on the day of the test the most important thing to do before taking the test is getting something to eat so your hunger wont bother you during the test, also drink allot of coffee so in case you get a boring essay your mind would be sharp.

Now when you get to the test you have to make sure to bring a student I.D, pens, and a dictionary, you should also go to the bathroom and do what you got to do, so like that you have 90 minutes to give full attention to your essay and that's it. When you are taking the test you should already have in your mind that you  have 90 minutes to complete the test so no slacking you should read the essay at most 3 times the first time you should read and the second time you should read and highlight the main idea(the most important part of the essay) and high light the most important ideas(things that relate to the main idea) and you also have to be careful not to highlight the minor details that should take about 20minutes.

Before you write the essay you should write an outline on how you want your essay to be. The essay it's self is very important so when writing it make sure that your pen is visible and that you write in a hand writing that the test grader can understand. In the writing  you should have an intro, two bodies, and a conclusion. The Intro should have the main idea, but paraphrased into your own words about what the author is writing about, it should also have a summary of the story which should include the main idea and the most important details in your own words. Now the last piece that the intro needs is a quote that you agree or disagree with. The first body paragraph is what explains why you agree or disagreed with the quote, and how you do that is with examples you have to make sure that your examples relates to your opinion. Now the second body paragraph is to use a personal experience that you can relate to why you agreed and disagreed, and for the final part of your essay which is the conclusion you should reinstate the main idea and your view points on why you agreed or disagree. In your body paragraph you have to make sure that you are very specific so it can help understand your essay more

 2. I have the tendency to fall asleep or look around and not focus on my essay when the essay its self is boring. It seems from my previous practice test I  have improved allot before i had no idea how to write an essay or it's structure but now i have the idea of how to write one. I'm still slacking in the body paragraphs and grammar, it wasn't as bad as before, before i didn't even know how to start an essay and now i do. My problem with  body paragraph is I'm not that specific or it doesn't go with my other paragraph i would always talk about something else that's some what related but its not and grammar i miss allot of commas and periods so it becomes harder to understand.

3.I definitely need to have like five cups of coffee and eat right in order to stay awake in case they give me a boring essay that's what I'm going to do to stay awake. In order for me to get my body paragraphs right im going to reread my body paragraph multiple times to make sure I'm on task and to see that everything makes sense and I'm also going to do that with my grammar error I'm going to reread everything and see were I'm missing a comma and a period.

Pratice test #3

Research has proven. The positive effect that music has on the the body and mind. According to the article" Is music a good tool for health"by Elizabeth Scott, there is a growing field of health care known as music therapy which uses  music to heal. Hospitals are also starting to use music therapy to help with pain, depression, to ease muscle tension and other problems. Music with a strong beat can stimulate brain waves to synchronize with the beat, music also prevents the damaging effects of chronic stress thereby helping people relax. Music is also used to bring a positive state of mind helping to keep depression and anxiety under control. I agree with the the quote "Music can also be used to bring a more positive state of mind, helping to keep depression and anxiety under control."
I agree with the quote because, music helps people with emotional depression or anxiety. Instruments like the violin, piano, cello, flute, trumpet, help make jazz, orchestras, or any other type of music that help ease the mind. Music has always been used for relaxation or to help with emotional depression that's why it's still popular to this very day. Music will help you stay calm because of the beat and the melody that you would be following.
In the ninth grade i got into a verbal argument with my math teacher over an unfair grade examine. during that argumentsshe called the dean of the school and made her give me 2 weeks of definition. when i was home I was frustrated and mad of what happen that at first I didn't know what to do, so I locked myself in the room and I started listening to Eminem  Mocking Bird. The song was very relaxing and it made calm, I  was following the beat for 2 minutes until I fell asleep and woke up feeling much better in the morning.
Therefore music has a very good effect on the body and mind it helps you stay relaxed and calm no matter how depressed or mad you are.

Blog #5

When Lionel saw how his sister(Helene) was treating her daughter Amanda he wanted to remove Amanda from Helene's hand's, so detective Remy, The Police Captain and Lionel came up with a plan to free Amanda from the uncaring mother. They kidnapped Amanda and faked her death so no one would care to find her. Patrick the private investigator (hired by Lionel wife) discovered the truth about what they did and soon enough their would be a battle between consequentialism and ethical absolutism.
The three man believed in consequentialism. They believed that if they leave Amanda with  Helene there would be a consequence in the end, so they left Amanda in the hands of the Police Captain only for the interest of Amanda. Everything they did, the kidnapping, faking her death was to protect Amanda from her own mother.
Now Patrick he believes in ethical absolutism. Patrick knowing that Amanda was better off with the Police Captain he didn't think what the Captain and the two man did wasn't right, he thought he should return Amanda to Helen, hoping that the experience that Helene suffered would make her change and be a better mom to Amanda.
The movie portrays both consequentialism and ethical absolutism. The movie shows that in the end Patrick didn't feel bad about what he did, he felt more relief then anything, even though the action of telling the truth had the consequence of the mother not changing at all.

Across the country, public hospitals have a hard time providing psychiatric care to the poor and the uninsured. According to the artictle "The Woman Who Died In The Waiting Room" by Jeneen Interlandi, In the waiting room of Brooklyn's largest psychiatic hospital, A patient named Esim Geen fell out of her chair and died nearly an hour before anyone decided to help her. Public hospitals have failed to provide psychiatric care to the poor and uninsured. Instead of locking patient in uncaring institutions they should be accepted into society. I agree with the idea that "Rather than locking them away in cold, uncaring instutions, the thinking went, the mentally ill should be offered a place in society."            The mentally ill are no different from us just because they have a hard time understanding, dosent mean we should keep them aside and not care for them. Mentally ill patient deserves the same amount of attention that regural patient do in a public hospital. We should accept mentally ill people in society and treat them no different especially if they are poor or uninsured.
I used to live in a hosuse were there was a psychiatric hospital right next door, what i've seen in the house was mentally ill patient being treated horribly, they were left alone when they started to cry and they would be always screaming at the person that would take care them because of the way they were treating them.
Therefore public hospitals phychiatric institute should care for the mentally ill and not treat them any different, Even if there poor or uninsured mentally ill patient should still be cared for.

Illinois house has passed a bill that would allow young people who are in the United States illegally to pay in-state tuition. According to the passage"An Education In Citizenship" Excerpted from the Chicago Tribune, Illinois house has passed a bill that would allow cheaper tuition for does who live in America illegally, the tuition for the in-state freshman entering the University of Illinois is 5,302 and the out-of-state tuition is 13,906. I  agree with "That all the activities of their various governments will be conducted within a framework of law, the most basic element of which is a definition of citizenship and its right and responsibilities.
Its unfair legal citizens that have parents paying for taxes and college have to pay the same amount of tuition then people who are living in the U.S illegally and not paying any taxes, its also unfair that international students have to pay twice as much money for tuition.
One of my friends experienced this when he was going to study here in the U.S coming from Ecuador, he had to pay twice as much as I did for his tuition in college. I also have a friend that lives in the U.S but lives here illegally and he actually got to pay less for college then I and it got me really upset because my parents are in time with taxes any everything.
Therefore the passing of the bill is unfair because it charges the same amount of tuition to people living in the U.S illegally and pay no taxes and the people that are U.S citizens and have payed all there taxes.

Education In Citizenship

Illinois house has passed a bill that would allow young people who are in the United States illegaly to pay in-state tuition. According  to the passage "An education in citizenship" Excerpted from the Chicago Tribun, the house passed the bill with the vote of 112-4 to allow young people in the US to pay for instate tuition. The bill is troubling because it chaeges legal citizens more tuition that ut charges non legal citizens. I dont agree with the bill because no US citizen should be deprived of an education, not every US citizen can afford Colleges and Universities.
In the passage it says that " for the average enterning freshman at the unversity of Illinois in Urbana champain the differnece is between 5,302 the current in-state rate, and 13,906 the out of state" Thats alot of money that theh US citizen have to pay compared to the non citizen thanks to the new bill. Theres no purpose to the bill why not charge every person the same amount instead of depriving them of an education.
A friend of mine had to drop out of college because he had no way to pay for it and the cost of the college was 1,900. Him being US citizen and everything He thought, he would get federal aid, but instead he got nothing, so imange how mad he would of got if he found about the bill that was being passed in Illinois.
Therefore the passing of this bill is wrong and it dosent let people get the education they deserve especially Citizens. It unfairly charges citizens more money then the non citizens.

Hype Essay

Now and days you can find an advertisements any were that you go. An advertisement can be found in movie theaters, food, transportation's, stores, things that people tend to use. In "Hype" by Kalle Lasn she say's that people get polluted with all these advertisements and I agree with her, people are getting manipulated by these advertisements that they hear on TV or what they see outside on the streets.
When your filling up the car with gas you would see an ad on the nozzle, or when you got to the bank and your waiting for your money to come out you would see an advertisements on the screen. Finding advertisements everywhere its not healthy you cant lay your eyes anywhere without seen an advertisement.
One day when I was walking to school I saw this very interesting advertisement on the screen that left me with my mouth open, it was the new baconator sandwich from Wendy's and guess what it manipulated me to go and buy the sandwich and because of that I was late to class that day. I've also seen people go crazy on the news because of what they advertise on black Friday. On black Friday one person has been killed because people stepped on him when they were trying to get into the store.

Advertisements can be found any where, they manipulate people by polluting there mind with ads and things they might want, that at times people get killed or late to class. No one is safe from advertisements that the best thing to do is just to ignore them.
